World Series, Game Seven

  • Dodger Stadium 1000 Vin Scully Avenue Los Angeles, CA, 90012 United States (map)

“The seventh game of a World Series has no parallel. What begins in February with ballplayers shedding winter fat lasts through the anticipation of Opening Day, the dog days of August, and, if the fans are lucky, a gut-wrenching pennant race. The two best teams square off as autumn begins to send the mercury down a few notches. Whatever happened in the previous 162 games is irrelevant. Nobody cares. Or remembers.” 1962: Baseball and America in the Time of JFK

The annual championship series of Major League Baseball in the United States and Canada, the World Series concludes a postseason that includes playoffs between divisional champions.

In the 2023 World Series, the Texas Rangers prevailed over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Often referred to as the "Fall Classic", the World Series has been played every year since 1903 except in 1904, when the National League champion New York Giants declined to play the American League champion, the Boston Americans. It was also canceled in 1994 due to a strike.

The World Series is a best-of-seven series, with the championship going to the first team to win four games.

The home field advantage (games 1,2,6,7) is determined by which league wins the All-Star game in July, with Game One played on the home field of that league’s champion. Games 3,4,5 are consequently played on the home field of the opposing league’s champion.
